Company Law Updates in 2017

     Speaker: Pamela Keegan B.L.                                   2.5 GROUP STUDY POINTS

The legislative framework for companies operating in Ireland is constantly evolving but the changes now seem to be happening more rapidly than ever. The Companies Act 2014 was supposed to be a collection of all the requirements for a company trying to navigate safely within the confines of the law, but since its introduction on the 1st June 2015, there have been amendments to the Act itself, changes to the Companies Registration Office procedures under the Act and also a number of new Statutes and Regulations brought in, all of which mandate compliance by Irish companies.

Accordingly, this seminar will consider:

  • Changes to the 2014 Act;
  • The changes in CRO requirements for filings;
  • The European Union (Anti-Money Laundering: Beneficial Ownership of Corporate      Entities) Regulations 2016 and the resulting new requirements for Irish companies;
  • How the new General Data Protection Regulations (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) will      affect companies;
  • A look ahead to the introduction of the Companies (Accounting) Bill 2016, the            Companies (Amendment) Bill 2017 and the Companies (Statutory Audits) Bill 2017.
